Susan Ebert-Stone, SRA
Susan Ebert-Stone, SRA is the founder of the firm. One of the first to be licensed in Colorado after implementation of licensing in 1991, Susan started appraising in 1986 after years as a secretary and office manager for Ebert Appraisal Service, Inc (Fred Ebert, founder; Bob Ebert, current owner). Ms. Ebert-Stone earned her SRA designation in 1993, just prior to venturing west to the Aspen marketplace. Her appraisal experience ranges from the little cabin in the woods, to appraising numerous luxury, "trophy", estates, including some of the highest-priced homes in the United States.
Ms. Ebert-Stone earned her "Litigation Specialist" certificate through the Appraisal Institute in 2011. Her litigation experience ranges from divorce (including high-value portfolio and celebrity clients), federal bankruptcy court, title disputes, construction defects, view corridor disputes, and geological hazards impacting properties. Ms. Ebert-Stone has sound deposition and trial testimony experience.
Susan has served at the state, regional, and national levels of the Appraisal Institute.
Henry (Hank) Stone, SRA
Henry (Hank) J. Stone, SRA joined the appraisal industry in 2005, bringing a background knowledge and skills in economics, history and management and strategic planning as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. As an appraiser, his territory stretches from Basalt to Rifle, bringing deep local knowledge and market insight to every assignment.
Hank has broad residential appraisal experience ranging from large, complex estate properties and divorce-related valuations to traditional lender work throughout the Roaring Fork Valley corridor. Over time, he developed a particular interest and expertise in private appraisal work, including estate, trust, and divorce assignments, and is recognized as one of the premier appraisers in the area for these specialized valuation needs.
Hank holds the SRA designation from the Appraisal Institute, reflecting advanced education, experience, and a commitment to the highest professional and ethical standards. His work is fully compliant with USPAP and is known for being well-supported, defensible, and clearly communicated - qualities valued by attorneys, fiduciaries, and private clients alike.
As a local appraiser with extensive experience in resort and mountain markets, Hank provides clients with reliable valuations grounded in firsthand market knowledge and careful analysis of complex property characteristics.
Hank is a retired Naval Officer, having served for over 20 years, first in the Submarine Service and, after Commissioning, as a Surface Warfare Officer. He is a graduate of the University of New Mexico with a BA in Economics.
Tessa Ebert
Tessa Ebert is training to become a residential appraisal professional and the next-generation owner of Peak Appraisal Service, a family-owned appraisal business serving Aspen, Snowmass, Basalt, Carbondale, and the greater Roaring Fork Valley. With deep local roots and firsthand knowledge of the Aspen luxury real estate market, Tessa is ready to dive into the world of appraising, following in her parents’ footsteps.
In addition to her training in real estate valuation, Tessa manages her own marketing business, where she helps local Roaring Fork Valley businesses grow through strategic digital marketing and brand development. This dual expertise allows her to approach real estate appraisal with both analytical precision and a strong understanding of market positioning in competitive resort communities like Aspen.
In her free time, Tessa enjoys the outdoors of the Valley by rafting, biking, hiking, skiing, and more.
Gunther
Gunther joined the family business in 2026 as the CEO (Chief Energy Officer). He keeps the appraisers in a strict routine with morning and afternoon treats. If the team is working late, Gunther is the first to motivate them to get out for a walk before the sun sets.
